The packaging was secure and boxed very well so absolutely no damage was made during shipping. It's cat friendly too! We can raise the blind to whatever level we wish so that she can perch up there and bird watch. And we love that we can snap the remote right on the side of the window because if it goes in my storage drawer in the kitchen, it will never be found again! LOL!! Installed these roller blinds in two, east facing dormer windows on second floor. They are inside mount. The width of the upper housing was the same as the measurements I provided. They were super tight! Once installed they work fantastic! I used the Z-Wave motor and have them connected to my Vera hub. One thing I did not realize is that blinds on the Vera Z-Wave hub do not work with Alexa. Even though I have multiple switches that work fine.
We are very happy with the blinds. They work perfectly in this application. Being able to open and close them without a ladder is wonderful.

The Smartwings blinds are fantastic. The installation is very easy and they work very well. I looked into getting a retractable blind from a big box store, but the price and service were terrible. Blinds are easy to install and easy to set up with the USB powered bridge for sunrise open and sunset close etc. by using the Smart Life App.
The motor has a smooth action and is quiet and has a soft close/open function as the blind gets to 100% open or close.
The remote worked well and comes with a wall mounting bracket.

They fit well and block light well. The driver for this purchase is Apple HomeKit compatibility with matter over thread. The material for this blackout is the same cheap vinyl from those 80s roller blinds. It is easily damaged. I rolled mine up with the charging cable attached and it rolled up wrong and crimped the edge every inch or so...that is disappointing. I had expected a fabric based material and never expected it to crease so bad.

I absolutely love the new blackout shades. In fact, disappointed I didn't have these shades in my prior home. The opportunity to use Alexa and/or set scenes is life changing. Our blinds in our master bedroom go down at 10:30 every evening; and automatically open/rise at 5:30 am. I do wish they were a bit quieter as it can be a bit startling in the early AM; but we LOVE them!!

I did a lot of research prior to ordering smart blinds for my home office and Smartwings ended up being the best option overall for what I needed. The custom blinds shipped faster than expected and installation was quick and frustration free. I actually managed to install the blinds during my lunch break. Sizing was spot-on and when the blinds are fully open you cant even tell theres blinds there at all since there was virtually no gap between the wall and valance. The main reason I chose Smartwings however was due to price and the ability to connect to HomeKit. Connecting the blinds to my Home app was as easy as scanning the QR code on the blinds (make sure you take a pic of the QR code before installing). I also ordered the light blockers and I’m really glad I did. They were easy to install with the included magnet strip and they do a great job of blocking out most of the light coming from the sides.
I didn’t order the solar panels unfortunately but plan to add that separately later. As a heads-up, if you have windows that can open/close and you do plan to buy the solar array, make sure you customize the motor position of your blinds to be on the side opposite of any windows that can open (ie place the motor on the side closest to a fixed window). The reason for this is because the solar array needs to stick to your window while plugged in and this could prevent you from being able to open the window if needed.
Overall I definitely would recommend Smartwings and already have plans to order another unit.

Very well packaged for the journey from overseas. Easy to install. I was able to install them myself without a second pair of hands. Setting up the Amazon Alexa routines with the zigbee motors was a bit confusing, but is now working well. For me, the smartwings website was not as accurate about which Alexa / Amazon devices will be compatible with smartwings blinds. Overall, I love my blinds and I'm very pleased with the purchase. I may purchase a few more blinds for other windows in my home.

We are really enjoying this blackout shade in our upstairs hallway. It blacks out the light from going into my son’s room and it opens and closes morning and night without us having to do anything! Great quality and reliable. Affordable too. We also have this same color in blackout in our bedroom and they all work very well. We just ordered woven shades for our kitchen and laundry room so I will post a new review when I receive those. Very happy with my purchases!

Got two blinds with the thread and matter motor. Works as expected. Installation was easy. Charging the motors is easy with the USB cord provided. Integration with Google Assistant was easy and building routines (“hey Google I’m leaving” and the shades lower along with doors locking and lights going off) worked seamlessly. Two weeks in and we are happy with the purchase. Motor is louder than some competitors but at the price point and the fact that they go up and down only about twice a day, I’d rather save hundreds of dollars per shade.
Only disappointment is the valence as there are bubbles in both. I did try and smooth it out but they do eventually pop back up. I would also recommend that Smartwings wrap the fabric over the frame as opposed to behind it. We have a lot of white in our house so it doesn’t look bad at all, but it could look even more clean of the outside frame wasn’t shown.
Overall, happy with the product though. These two windows were a test pair for us. If they last a few months we will be outfitting our house with them.

Thrilled with the blinds and with the company, SmartWings. Top notch service and products! Super easy to install (4 screws!) and set up (comes pre-set up from the factory!). It doesn't get any easier than that. And they look great. So many options, I highly recommend getting the fabric samples before ordering, so you can be sure you're getting something you'll love.
Also, in my experience, the motor being on the left or right side makes no difference at all. Just pick a side and be consistent, so you're not always searching for which side the charger plugs in.

I ordered two but need $2,500 more worth. 34 1/2 x 71 custom windows make changes expensive.
The sticker shock on the price made me wonder. My whole home is smart. Switches, outlets, fans, locks, breaker panel, cameras, garage doors, Alexa and tvs. All I needed was blinds and no matter what ones you look at the price is a lot. I was happy when I got them installed and seen they are well built, look good and work great with Alexa and all my routines I have setup. So far the only issues was Alexa but they fixed it right away. The support was quick and helpful.

I’m so beyond happy with this purchase. Our bedroom has an oversized three panel window. I got quotes from multiple companies for a motorized blackout shade to go behind our blinds—lowest quote was just under $2,000 for one window. I decided to try my luck and order one of these instead—it’s perfect. Fully blocks out light and works amazingly well with our smart home. Took about an hour to install. Main reason it is a 4 not a 5 is I’m a bit concerned that if we invest in these throughout and then want to go from SmartThings to HomeKit in the future this would be a big investment to replace….

The installation was really easy. The instructions did a good job of showing how that process works. It took me a couple of times to figure out the programming of the shade using the instructions. All you really need to know is that you select the number on the remote you would like to assign to the shade. Then, press and hold the button on the shade until it jogs (moves up and down real quick) and quickly press the stop button on the remote. For zWave installations, press and hold the shade button until the shad jogs, keep holding, it will jog once more. Let go of the button and the light will start flashing. Now you're in Z-Wave pairing mode.
I automate this Window Shade using the Home Assistant. I've been able to program it to open in the morning, and close right before Zoom meetings. I even have it close when the sun gets to a specific position to start shining direct sunlight into the house which always ends up overheating the house in the summer.
All in all, things work great and do what I needed.

This is our 6th shade that we installed. After the first shade order that took about 3 hours to install due to our own screw-up of factory resetting the device, all of the others took 15 minutes tops to install and program. Very easy and works nicely with Echo / Alexa devices. We upgraded to a new Echo (not an Echo Dot) which has ZigBee and makes finding new devices so easy. Now we can control each shade individually or as a group as shown in the video.
The quality of the packing, shipping is excellent and the installation brackets are spring loaded and installed with 1 or 2 screws per bracket. The quality of the shades is also excellent.
Our next order will probably look at the Zebra shades for other rooms in the house. We are extremely pleased and highly recommend.

Super easy install and set up! I was looking at another product before I found SMARTWINGS and I couldn’t be happier. The ordering experience was very easy. I called ahead and inquired about the fabric samples and was greeted with a friendly and helpful staff member. I recommend ordering the samples before placing your order so you can see and feel the differences in your space with your lighting and furniture.
I called for tech support and got helped again but wouldn’t have had to do that at all if I actually read the details on the website regarding the version requirements for the Alexa motors and the instructions that came with the blinds. I was surprised when my call went to voicemail and then elated to get a call back within less than a minute. I didn’t even leave a message thinking I’d just call back.
I plan to order more as soon as I recover from my initial purchase. These are not an inexpensive luxury but so far they are worth every penny and competitively priced.

I randomly came across these on YouTube as an affordable option for smart blinds. Rolled the dice and am super happy with the purchase! Great blinds. Super easy install. Will definitely buy again. The learning curve is about a 4.5 out of 10 to really get acquainted with how the blinds work and setting them up with HomeKit, so not too hard but not 100% super easy either. I had to reset one of my blinds for it to work with HomeKit, figuring out what the problem was took me an additional 10 minutes. But, After you get them up and running, it’s pretty much smooth sailing after that.

i love them so much!! i bought the apple homekit version, and it works so smoothly with apple homekit. the only issue i have is that the remote that came with the blinds, the spring in the back is messed up so i can’t put batteries in it. not a big deal because i use the homekit accessory to raise and lower the blinds. other than that i would definitely purchase them again!

Even though it took a while for delivery (it was coming a ways) it arrived safe and sound. Installation was a breeze and it works phenomenally. We got the simple remote because we only got one blind. I absolutely LOVE these blinds!!! I requested fabric samples before ordering and Smartwings was responsive and sent them very quickly. I was a bit hesitant to order with the limited information and reviews but I'm so glad I did! I did lots of comparison shopping and this was the best deal with the best features. I ordered the blackouts for my living room and a very high, unreachable window in our stairwell. During the ordering process, it's a bit unsettling because the payment site is in Chinese which made me concerned about fraud, but I paid via Pay Pal for extra reassurance and there were no issues. I received a notification that my order was shipping from mainland China about two weeks following placing the order and I said to myself "well, that means they'll be here in another 6-8 weeks." I was pleasantly surprised to be very wrong. They arrived the following week - about 3 weeks total from placement of my order. Coincidently, I ordered other blinds for my home on the very same day from blinds.com and those blinds arrived 3 weeks after the Smartwings. One small surprise after struggling to pair the blinds with Alexa for about half an hour was that they blinds were incompatible with my Echo device. I didn't realize it needed the integrated Zigbee hub so I had to upgrade my Echo to the latest/greatest version. Once I got that taken care of, it was fairly straightforward to pair them and set up the voice routines in Alexa. Now my blinds are open when go downstairs in the morning, which is really nice, and I can close them from the comfort of my sofa whenever I want. Excellent product and I would buy them again for sure!

We are very happy with the product & overall experience. I was nervous about the color since I could only view on screen, but it's perfect.
The seller is also great to work with & responds super fast. We got our item much faster than anticipated which was perfect.
The customization is absolutely perfect! & doesn't have too much gapping on the sides.
We installed it the "opposite way you should put a toilet paper roll on" lol bc of the way our desk butts up to our window, but you can hang it either way which is nice.
We also needed a small extension cord for charging bc our outlet was a little too far away for the plug, but that isn't anything that faults the product itself bc that will vary with every room. Just a callout if you don't already have a spare extension cord hanging around.
We were also happy that it stops before it rolls all the way up, that was a happy surprise especially if guest are in that room there isn't the risk of damaging the blind.
