They don't really work, and aren't worth the $100+ I paid for the pair. If I had to do it again, I would have chosen the square bottoms with the rails, as they seem like they would do a better job.

I purchased the HomeKit -Matter Motors and it was difficult to set up at first until I realized I needed to have a Home Pod or Apple Tv, to make it work I set up the Home Pod the shades were a breeze to add to Homekit!
I ended up ordering a total of 9 shades, and I will be ordering a shade for the skylight.

Shopped for shades from multiple vendors before choosing SmartWings. With installation the price from other vendors was roughly triple or more than SmartWings. I don't know what installation would have cost me since there are no SmartWings installers near my location, so I removed the existing shades and installed the new shades myself. They look and work fantastically. I did have to wipe and reprogram a couple shades but with the included documentation it wasn't a big deal. I would like to comment on the online help desk. It was always available, the advice was right on and the person manning the desk actually had a personality, refreshing! Happy customer!

The blinds I ordered took less time to arrive than the fabric samples I purchased before hand! The quality is top notch. I ordered an inside mount w/solar and the Apple Thread protocol and the blind works seamlessly and is so quiet you can barely hear it. I love the fact that it integrates so well with my AppleTV and HomePods via voice, Home Kit app or the 15 channel remote (which isn't really needed at all). I have them programmed to open at 8:00 AM and close to 80% :45 minutes before sunset and completely close at sunset when the lights come on. I never have to touch them. AWESOME!!!

I chose safari 70% blackout ivory from the sampler and was so hesitated about the look and texture just making decision from a small sample, but the finished blind looks and feels so amazing.
The motor doesn't feel noisy at all, and I automatic the blind with hubitat through z wave, it opens and close without my notice. It is a good upgrade for my house.

We bought 30 motorized shades and a motorized patio drape. 8 of the shades were purchased with solar panels. All the motors were HomeKit over thread. I can say that my wife and I love these shades. They are awesome! The quality. The look. Having them now actually installed, they have met and exceeded our expectations!
When you have 44 windows with drawstrings, you are less apt to open or close them regularly, but having them motorized makes it so easy. We bought the shades not just for ease and convenience, but also for blocking the sun to prevent fading of furniture and minimizing unwanted heat in the summer, so having them motorized, smart, and some with solar panels will allow us to do just that.
To be able to share your Home devices with others in your family, you'll need a 4th generation Apple TV or higher, so we had to upgrade one of our TVs which we were going to do anyway as part of getting rid of our cable and going to full streaming.
We continue to have no response communications with several of the shades, but that appears to be related to the router and it's location; something that we will be replacing as part of getting rid of cable. In the meantime, the remote controller has been working flawlessly and another controller has been ordered.

I ordered 1 blockout shade for a guest bath to verify how it worked and whether or not I could sync it to Alexa. It worked so well that ordered 9 more shades with 70% filtering. Most were perfect for bit a ordered a couple of them a hair too long so I used them remote to program a new bottom limit. Now they work perfectly. Highly recommended

Arrived in perfect condition. To me, the motors are very quiet. Wish more info was available in the manual stating basics on what is needed to automate shade control. Simple facts like do I need to leave a computer running 24/7 to control the blinds. Recommended vendors such as Google, Amazon etc. when using a Zigbee motor.
I plan to eventually order blinds for my family room now that I am aware of your quality and when my finances permit.

I originally ordered these for two windows and liked them so much I ended up placing two more orders to do the rest of my house.
The motors are very quiet and have a high quality sound when they're operating.
the inside mount ones were very easy to install but I had difficulty snapping them into place for the ceiling mounted once because there is no give in the ceiling purpose to allow rotating the blinds casing.
Customer service was also excellent; two of the blinds mysteriously developed creases after a couple of days.
SmartWings responded to my emails very quickly and sent me replacement blind material at no charge.

This is our 7th Smartwings roller shade in this room. This one is over sliding doors with the shade rolling to the inside to clear the door handle. Works perfectly. They are setup with Zigbee and paired with Hubitat for automation as are the six other indoors and two on the patio outside.

Absolutely wonderful shades. They are very well-engineered and have an easy-to-follow installation guide, so my installation was a snap. I had those on and running in about an hour. The motors are pretty quiet; I was actually expecting them to be noisier. The integration into my Google Home Assistant automatic routines was pretty straightforward as well; I bought the Smart Link hub, which works flawlessly. The only small hiccup with configuring the hub was making sure, my 5G phone was temporarily connected to my 2.4 GHz router frequency (not my default 5 GHz one).

When they arrived the valance was the measurement I gave them and the shade was about an inch to narrow. Still looks good but still don’t know which way to measure is correct.

I was hesitant at first. I had a local blind company come out and give me a price for one motorized blind for my garage. I was shocked by his quote. Almost 1,000.00 for ONE motorized blind. We have an area that is not easily reached in a living room with vaulted ceilings. For about 4 hours every late morning to early afternoon, the sun shines right in your eyes if you are sitting in the living room. We didn't want blackout shades, but also didn't want the sun to blind us.
We researched various manufacturers of automated blinds, but ultimately settled on Smart Wings for both the competitive pricing, customization options and wide range of automation compatibility. We currently use a QOLSYS home security (and automation) system that utilizes Z-Wave for the automation.
We called several times and they were very helpful and responsive with my questions for my specific circumstances with windows and automationn requirement. Additionally, we have no outlets near the windows and having the solar charging was a great option. We ordered the swatches so we could pick a fabric that fit our room colors and sun blocking requirement. Tons of choices to pick from. Swatches were nice and big and helped for picking both the color, fabric and light blocking. We went with 70% blackout. We measured the windows, ordered the blinds and waited. Smooth and easy process.
Everything came well labeled and matched our windows perfectly. If you were doing numerous windows in home, they're labeling is great. We used the remote to set the upper and lower limits of the shades. Then we "learned in" each Z-Wave blind into our automation system (QOLSYS IQ4). We can control our blinds through the home automation system (app on our phones) or with the purchased remote. Additionally, we utilized the programming functionality of the automation system to have the blinds lower everyday at 10:30am and open at 2:30pm.
They've been installed for 3 weeks and we love them so far.

Easy to install. Programming the remote took a little bit of a learning curve but i figured it out.
It paired up with Zigbee on my Home Assistant but it seems as if there are two issues:
1.) It looks like they use the same motor and Zigbee portion on right-hand vs. left-hand and they just reverse them. I have one of each in my bedroom. I had to flip a bit in my Zigbee automation on the left-hand motor so the 0% - 100% matched the right-hand. If you have that in your home automation system, you will use it.
2.) Regardless, for some reason on the Zigbee side, "open" is closed and "closed" is open and I cannot get that to change regardless of flipping that option. It is a pain if you use voice control because telling your voice assistant to open them will close them. You have to use the percentage (open them to 0%).

Chat support was great for few questions I had and also had to call in for an issue which was resolved promptly (had reset the shade when trying to pair with ST).
Would recommend it for anyone who can do the install themselves. It's fairly easy and just have to make sure the measurements are correct. There are good instructions on the website as well as video clips on YouTube with detailed steps.
Hope for more innovations and styles (square cassette, etc) which some of the other brands provide. But otherwise fully satisfied with the product.

These blinds are attractive, ship quickly and are easy to install for short valances, as this blind. I ordered the HomeKit ones. They are easy to set up with HomeKit. They are far less expensive than Lutron Serena or RA3. Be careful that you specify the correct size though. The blind width is the width of the valence minus about 0.25" rather than the width of the blind . This is true for inside OR outside mount. About 1.5" is lost for the valance being wider than the blind and they shorten all blinds 0.25" so they fit the window width (inside or outside mount). If ordering outside mount and you want 1" overlap with the window width, you should order the blind for the window width plus 3.75" (2" for overlap, 0.25" for inside mount shortening, 1.5" loss for valance mechanics).

These blinds are attractive, ship quickly and are fairly easy to install (although two people are required for these long blinds). I ordered the HomeKit ones. They are easy to set up with HomeKit. They are far less expensive than Lutron Serena or RA3 (about 1/8th the price of RA3, I have some RA3 in my house). The customer support via email is fast and responsive (one of the blinds didn't have the HomeKit sticker attached - it must have fallen off). For an outside mount, be sure to note that the "width" is not the width of the blind but of the valance. Even though it's an outside mount, the valence is reduced by about 0.25" to be sure it fits in the window width (as if it were an inside mount) and there is another 1.5" lost for mechanics. That means that for an outside mount with 1" blind overlap past the window, you should order the window width plus 3.75".

Easy install, and easy programing. Bought the optional hub to work with the older alexa system we had in the house and it linked right up and works perfect.
Did the group programing where the shade automatically open on their own at a set time and close at a preset time.
You are also allowed one favorite shed elevation for each shade that you can say open all shades to favorites and they will move to their individual favorite heights, even if each shades favorite height is slightly different.

I was a little hesitant spending almost $500 on this because I wanted the z-Wave motor to integrate with my VeraPlus home automation system and the manufacturer could not confirm that it would. I took a risk and am happy to report that it DOES work with the VeraPlus - but NOTE WELL when pairing it might not appear to have completed, I paired using the web interface as a Generic z-Wave device (not sure if it would look different using cell phone interface) and that process has a clock that counts down to 0 "looking for new devices" - it didn't report finding the new device, but it actually did so try closing the web browser and then go back into Vera and check devices and see if it was added. It took me a couple of tries before I finally got it right, as you can see from the screen capture from my phone you can control up/down/open/close/stop functions as well as set to specific percentage open. The device can be added to scenes like any other device, so for example if you wanted a scene named "Living Room Blinds 50% Open" you could have this device open (or close) to 50%.
My blinds for this room were 88" wide x 67" tall, I did the 70% blackout in Linen Caramel and am very pleased with the appearance. The electric motor is very quiet, responds promptly to either the hand-held remote control or z-Wave controller instructions, and was very easy to customize (e.g. setting upper and lower boundary limits and "favorite position"). The motor draws very little power both while listening for instructions and while running, I've had the motor listening for several days and operated it up and down several times and battery is still at 100%, I'm told you can get 600 open/close operations per charge on this battery!
The manufacturer provides nearly EVERYTHING you could possibly need to install, even a pair of white gloves to keep the unit clean during install and a level to ensure it is installed level! I'm so impressed I may bite the bullet and replace at least 6 more large units (same size as this), and probably 4 or more smaller units. If I do the master bedroom windows I'll finally be able to have the blinds open at sunrise automatically.
One final note, the custom build and shipping from China was FAST! Ordered 12/12, shipped 12/17, arrived in Massachusetts via UPS 3 days later on 12/20!!! It was double-boxed and well packed, arrived without any damage despite such a long trip!

Overall, excellent product and very good value compared to other options. The Matter-enabled motorized rollers work great, easy to pair and set up. Well-designed, easy to put up/take down when needed.
A couple of areas for improvement:
- one blind's valance was damaged in transit - Smartwings was very quick to replace it free, but the shipping packaging is very minimal
- one blind's bottom bar wasn't attached exactly perpendicular, so the gap was off by 3/8" over a 3' length. Luckily this was easy to fix myself, with guidance from support.
- the battery level readings shown in Homekit seem suspect... one showed 68% charge when in fact it was almost dead. Recharging fixed it, and with opening/closing once per day it looks like the charge will last about 4 months (time will tell) - not bad at all! Very easy to reach the USB charge port even without taking them down when that time does come.

Absolutely love these roller shades! While the second experience was not as smooth as the first set I ordered (not Smartwings fault) When they arrived all was in good condition and were exactly what was ordered. The issue was the shipping... You shipped via UPS this time (Fed Ex last time and they were here in 4 days) and it took a full 2 weeks from the time I got the email saying they were on their way. They sat in Shanghai for a week, and then got notified that they were in Alaska, then back in Shanghai, then in the States, finally into Canada just before the weekend.
One question...there is a line that goes across the middle of the fabric. I assume that this is just from the roller during shipping and that it will hang out over time? Your products are a breeze to install and hook up to HomeKit, and they are my favourite home kit device (and we have close to 60 devices) :-)

We LOVE these shades. Quality is excellent for the price. We ordered the HomeKit version and had no issues setting them up or getting them into a schedule for opening/closing. Shipping was fast, blinds were packed extremely well to prevent damage, customer service has been excellent. We just recently placed our 3rd order with SmartWings. If you are looking for automated shades - these are an excellent choice. Highly recommend getting the fabric samples (we did) because the on-line pictures do not do the fabric samples justice.
