Side Rail Tracks are U-shaped pieces, specifically designed to block light leakage by covering the gaps that blackout shades can’t reach. Since blackout shades are typically made slightly smaller than the window opening to prevent friction with the frame during operation, these gaps can allow light to seep through. Side Rail Tracks address this issue, ensuring a darker, more comfortable space.
Side rail tracks are made from durable aluminum with a powder-coated gloss finish. Fiber brushes within the side tracks also help to prevent light seepage around the edges of your blinds.
They can be attached using screws for a secure fit or with adhesive backing (3M tape). For smooth and even walls, the 3M adhesive backing is ideal for easy installation. For rough or uneven wall surfaces, screws are recommended to ensure a stable and secure fit. However, if removed, the adhesive backing will lose its stickiness and cannot be reattached. (Note: Not suitable for use on stucco wall surfaces.)
